Children of this age are not designed to sit still. To faciliate their need for motion, new experiences and adventure, to engage with the world around them and the ability to move their whole body, children in Learning Link have a well designed playground which is shared with Learning Lane. It is the stage where they verbalise more questions than we have answers for. For this very reason, programs in this room are designed to provide children with opportunities that invite children to explore, investigate and broaden their understanding of the world as they see it. In Learning Link, educators implement individual programs incorporating the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to extend and enrich children’s learning. The framework assists educators in providing children with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in learning. Fundamental to the framework is a view of children’s lives as characterised by belonging, being, and becoming. Children of this age are connected to their family, community, and culture. As children of this age are engaged in opportunities to build on prior learning, learning experiences will be meaningful, relevant, and most importantly, enjoyable.
