Collaborative relationships with families are fundamental to achieve quality outcomes for children. Parents are invited to participate in the life of Brookfield Early Childhood Centre at a level appropriate to their personal circumstances and needs. We appreciate that time is precious to working parents, but the Service recognises the important role parents and families play in the education of their children, and as such value parental and family participation and involvement on a variety of levels. Here are some ways you can offer support and also be involved in your child's day.
- Spend some time with your child at the Service - when you have a day off, join us for lunch;
- Help educators in developing interests for children by sharing ideas and/or resources, via the parent portal of iChild;
- Act as volunteers;
- Attend social and fund-raising events such as our annual Diwali Day, Pink Ribbon Day events and Christmas Celebrations;
- Collect scrap materials for children to use in creative pursuits.
We believe in an “Open Door Policy”, so whether it’s a quick 5 minutes at drop off or pick up, or a few hours play during the day, you are always welcome. Parent and family participation is highly valued as we view this as another aspect of your child’s development within our Service. Open communication between families and educators is vital to ensuring continuity of care and to meet the changing needs of each individual child.
