Brookfield Early Childhood Centre is committed to the ideal of “Excellence in Early Childhood Education”, and to the provision of facilities and resources which are considered by many to be at the forefront of early childhood education and care settings. We are committed to an ongoing program of maintenance and improvement to our physical environment, so as to provide our families with facilities which reflect the highest possible standards.
At Brookfield Early Childhood Centre we believe that playgrounds are a living area that allows children to develop their physical abilities and self-confidence, providing opportunities to feed their imagination and to increase their interactions with others. As children grow and develop, a playground should be a 3D environment where they can challenge themselves and provide a constant source of discovery and learning opportunities through a tactile play element. At our Service we have three extensive play terrains, catering for different ages and stages of expression through play. We view the environment as the 'third teacher' encouraging exploration and imagination, and reflecting the natural world.
The creation of relaxing and friendly outdoor eating areas in each playground, complete with an educator dedicated to the learning that surrounds food, sustainability and the cycle of garden to plate, has proved to be a very successful addition to our outdoor environment.
